TAG | Houston Rockets

This week’s episode is seemingly all about things that shouldn’t be done. Gregg and Aaron recount sneaking in to the Iverson’s first gave back. Tracy McGrady perhaps shouldn’t be playing for the Rockets this year. Vinny Del Negro probably shouldn’t be a NBA coach. Mark Cuban shouldn’t be getting slammed through tables in the WWE (or maybe he should). CNN’s Wolf Blitzer shouldn’t be tweeting Wizards games.
Plus, we read some listeners’ emails, including suggested nicknames for Dave. And of course, Players of the Week.
You SHOULD be listening though, and following us on Twitter, becoming a fan on Facebook and subscribing/rating/reviewing the podcast in iTunes. And if you’ve got any comments or questions, email us at holdingcourtpodcast@gmail.com.

Here’s an excellent illustration of the Rockets three-point offense by Kevin Arnovitz at Clippersblog.com. Or perhaps it’s more about the awful Clippers defense. Ricky Davis, seriously, what are you doing out there? Commit to something!
This kind of explains the Rockets in my mind at least. They may not be the most physically gift, or the tallest, or the most touted. But they work hard and they work smart. They are patient, they don’t bow under pressure.
And although they are currently ranked at the eight spot in the West, they’ll be dangerous come playoff time. Remember, this is essentially the team that took the Lakers to seven games, which was farther than the Magic were able to go in the Finals. And that was without Yao to defend the twin towers of Gasol and Bynum.
It will be interesting to see what the Rockets do with Tracy McGrady, who wants to return to the team. They can certainly use his scoring, but it’s not as simple as that. I’ll leave it at that for now as we’ll be talking about it on the next podcast!
The Holding Court Podcast is a humorous look at the National Basketball Association by Philadelphia's Gregg Gethard, Aaron Hertzog and Dave Walk.
Website is a work in progress!
